What Is Near

Near Hide + Seek is a free app for playing hide and seek across a neighborhood or a whole city with friends. One team hides. The seekers use questions and public transit to find them.

Near is a companion to the Jet Lag: Hide and Seek Home Game. Near handles location tracking, question history, map shading, borders and more to make playing the game a better experience. For more info, read why use Near.

How to play

Create a private room, share its code, draw your border and pick teams. The hiding team finds a spot and stays together. When seeking starts, questions like Radar and Thermometer narrow the map. Seekers aren't shown the hiders' live coordinates during the hunt. See who can hide the longest.

Play on your phone

Open Near in your browser on iPhone, iPad or Android, or get the Android app. The iPhone App Store release is coming soon. You need a free account, an internet connection and location access for location-based questions.

Near is an independent fan-made app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Jet Lag: The Game, Wendover Productions or Nebula. Your location only goes to the people in your room. The Privacy Policy and Terms have the details.
